Exploration and characterization of barite mineral from azara-nassarawa ore deposits for suitability in industrial applications

Primary concentrations of Azara barite deposit in Nassarawa state, Nigeria were conducted; employing simplified gravity concentration techniques. Particle size distribution, specific gravity, physicochemical and morphological analyses the sample was conducted. These done order to establish process efficacy effectiveness processes for recovery barium from ore deposit, as well its suitability various industrial applications, such oil gas sectors. Thus, microstructural, chemical composition certain characteristics/properties mineral Azara-Nassarawa determined. XRD, XRF, SEM EDS utilized determining morphology quantitative qualitative sample. Barite with average particle -355+150µm subjected concentration, adopting jigging tabling separation methods. Hitherto, based on conducted, composed about 36.2% BaO 40.5% Ba, respectively; also possessed an (SG) 3.85. Further, analysis products jiggling indicated that had a concentrate 130.98% Ba SG increase 11.2% while 89.81% 8.6% increase. Assay results confirm efficiency thus, deposits suitable applications. This will serve tool step further towards mitigating existing problems or challenges processing purposes.
